Coffee and Cigarettes

I haven't seen this much coffee and cigarettes since grad school. These series of short films are strung together to show us all of the different permutations and variations of coffee and cigarettes. Though I enjoyed the movie, it seemed more of an intellectual excursion than a passionate venture. Some of the shorts were much better than the others, but the sound that keeps repeating endlessly throughout one of my favorite sounds...the delicate tinkling of the spoon on the edge of the cup after stirring in the creamer. Maybe that's why the movie kept making me think of my favorite poem by T. S. Eliot, The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock.
