Archives notes history of child nutrition programs

The recounting of children bringing live chickens to school for a special meal, and those chickens' subsequent demise, is just one of many stories recorded as part of an oral history project at the National Food Service Management Institute's Child Nutrition Archives.

The Ole-Miss based archives is home to oral histories and materials documenting programs in several states, including recent additions from Kansas and South Carolina. The center hopes to have 40 more interviews completed by December.
